Mike tells us about his company Xemplar Energy (CA:XE / US:ZEPRF / Frankfurt : E7R), who are exploring for Uranium in Namibia.

Namibia, a country with a rich history in mining, is known for its low grade and high tonnage uranium deposits. Currently, there are two uranium mines (Rossing and Langer Heinrich) operating in Namibia, producing 8% of the world’s U3O8 and over the past 18 months two low grade uranium deposits of significant size in Namibia have been the subject of a takeover (UraMin for its Trekkopje Deposit) and a takeover offer (Forsys Metals for its Valencia Deposit).

The Capital Gold Takeover - 15TH MARCH 2009

Capital Gold (US:CGLD; CA:CGC) is a junior mining company, producing about 60,000 ounces of gold per year from their El Chanate mine in Northern Mexico. They put their mine into production cheaply and quickly, encountering few of the problems that seem to afflict other companies. Their cash costs are about $300 per ounce. Their market cap is around US$130 million.

This week it was announced that Gammon Gold (CA:GAM, US:GRS) - a mid-tier producer in the nearby Mexico area, market cap about US$920 million - were making an all-share takeover bid that values Capital at a 20-30% premium. Is this a good deal for Capital’s shareholders? Capital’s COO John Brownlie discusses:

Roger Ballentine of China Energy Recovery -13th December

This week Dominic Frisby talks to Roger Ballentine of China Energy Recovery (CER), headquartered in Shanghai, is an international leader in designing, fabricating, implementing and servicing energy recovery systems. CER’s technology captures industrial waste energy to produce low cost electrical power, which enables industrial manufacturers to reduce their energy costs, shrink their emissions footprint, and generate sellable emissions credits. CER’s systems are effective at reducing sulfur dioxide emissions, which are a leading cause of acid rain.
