The company recently announced a resource of 3.18Billion tonnes of thermal coal, at its 75% owned project, which is one of the largest undeveloped deposits in Indonesia. Churchill’s business plan is to leverage off the urban growth in China and India and their healthy appetite for coal fired electricity.

Carpathian Gold Inc (TSX:CPN) is a mineral exploration company focused on the exploration and development of mineral projects with a goal of becoming a gold producing company. The company finalized the Riacho dos Machados (RDM) gold project transaction in Brazil in late 2008. RDM is a gold project with previous open-pit (oxide) mining undertaken by CVRD. The operation produced 170,000 ozs Au (2 g/t ) from 1989 to 1997 when it was shut down due to the weakness in the price of gold and a change of strategy by CVRD. CPN has released a NI43-101 compliant resource ( see NR of May 18,2009) consisting of 290,000 oz Au in the Measured + Indicated category and 1,012,000 oz Au in the Inferred category with the goal to commence mining through deepening of the existing open pit at a rate of 5500tpd followed by underground mining by ramp access.

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc (TSX-OYM; NASDAQ:OLYMF, Frankfurt: OP6) is a Canadian mining company with a focus on Vietnam, one of the fastest growing countries in the Far East. Olympus is producing gold at its Bong Mieu Gold Plant and with new plant modifications is forecasting positive cash flow by next month. The company plans to expand production at its Vietnamese properties to some 175,000 oz of gold over the next four years, and that target excludes the possibility of any acquisitions in the meantime.

African Eagle Resources Plc (AIM: AFE) is a diversified mineral exploration and development company operating in eastern and central Africa. The company’s principal advanced projects are the Dutwa nickel laterite discovery in Tanzania, where the Company announced a JORC resource at the end of 2008 and favourable metallurgical results in February 2009, and the Mkushi Copper Mines project in Zambia, which is at Feasibility Study stage. African Eagle have defined a half million ounce gold resource at the Miyabi project in Tanzania, and are evaluating a second promising nickel laterite deposit in Tanzania. Behind these lies a portfolio of promising earlier stage gold and base metal projects, including two projects in the Zambian Copperbelt.
