Company Statement
Nordic Diamonds Ltd. is a Canadian mining exploration Company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Nordic currently has a portfolio of properties that include diamond projects in Finland and Canada and also poly-metallic and uranium properties in Sweden. Nordic seeks to further explore, evaluate and develop its various exploration projects to enhance the asset value of the company. Nordic will also continue to look at further acquisitions to strengthen its property holdings. The Company plans on accomplishing this goal by using proven exploration techniques that include geochemistry, geophysics, drilling and bulk sampling.
Nordic's main focus for the remainder of 2006 is the WM and the BRSC claims in northern Canada. Due the the discovery of a kimberlite boulder train on the WM claim during last years exploration season, the company will be undertaking an aggressive till sampling and possible drill program in the 2006 season. Nordic has received a lot of attention regarding this discovery due to its close proximity to the Tahera Diamond Mine. Walter Melnyk will personally be heading up the years exploration program along with two Russian geologists that were prolific is helping Mr. Melnyk discover the Snap Lake deposit.
Nordic is also exploring for diamonds in the Kuopio-Kaavi area which is located 350 kilometres north-northeast of Helsinki, Work conducted in the Kuopio-Kaavi region has included airborne geophysical surveys, extensive basal till sampling and a limited amount of drilling.
Current Operations
MALI PROJECT
- Located 400km north for Bamako near the town of Kayes in Mali, West Africa
- 10,000 metres of Rotary Air Blast drilling has commenced
400 drill holes will test the East and West anomalies to a depth of 25 metres - Earning into 70% interest by making $1,770,000 in cash payments over the next 5 years and taking the project to feasibility
- The Boutounguissi Sud and Aurou concessions consists of 247.2 km2
BR/SC Project, Nunavut
- The BRSC property is located immediately to the north of Contwoyto Lake, approximately 175 kilometers northwest of the Ekati Diamond Mine. The property is coincident with the Slave Craton and lies within the mystical "Corridor of Hope", a zone that encompasses a large percentage of the kimberlite pipes extending from the Lac de Gras region in the southeast to the Coronation region in the northwest. The BRSC property falls about half way along this favorable zone.
- The BRSC property is surrounded by 11 diamond bearing kimberlite pipes located within 10 kilometers of the property boundary to the south and west. The most significant of these is the Jericho kimberlite owned by Tahera Mines situated about 7 kilometers south of the BRSC property boundary. The Jericho kimberlite contains 5.5 million tonnes of reserves and resources averaging 0.85 carats per tonne. This deposit is currently in production giving the company an close proximity infrastructure.
- A detailed, low level airborne magnetic survey was flown over the BRSC property in 2004. Based upon that data, 40 magnetic anomalies were identified by the company's consulting geophysicist. Two targets are magnetic 'low' features, while the third is a distinct round magnetic 'high'. If the 2006 exploration program substantiates the previous work and airborne geophysics, the data will be compiled and interpreted to prioritize targets for drill testing.
Nyborg VMS Project The Nyborg Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) Project is located approximately 600 km north of Stockholm, and is located in the famous Skelleftea mining district in northern Sweden.
- The Company has been granted an exploration permit encompassing an area of 7,740 hectares and measuring approximately 15km by 5km, trending east-west. The property lies adjacent to a mining lease owned by Boliden that covers an active mining operation, the Kristineberg Mine, that has produced >20 million tonnes grading 1.05% Cu, 3.56% Zn, 1g/t Au, and 35g/t Ag. The exploration permit is valid for a term of three years and is renewable for a maximum of three additional terms totaling 12 years, contingent upon the completion of applicable work credits.
Bottenbacken Polymetallic Project
- The Bottenbacken Project is a 100%-owned polymetalic project in west central Sweden. The property is located 490 km northwest of Stockholm, and 90 km southwest of the central supply town of Ostersund.
STORSJO URANIUM PROJECTThe Storsjo Uranium Project, which consists of the Tossasen, Solvbacktjarn and Aviken claims, is located in central Sweden.
Tossasen Claim
- Claim size 3,000 hectares
- Over 200 mineralized boulders and 10 mineralized outcrops
- Mineralization is hosted by thinly bedded quartzites
- Swedish Geological Survey reports: "All mineralization observed in outcrop is present as layers and these generally follow the strike and dip of the regional bedding"
- Largest boulder discovered is 1.6 cubic meters and is mineralized in pitchblende, chalcopyrite, and magnetite
- The best chemical assay from an outcrop was; 1.18% U, 1.15% Cu, and >100g/t Ag
Solvbacktjarn Claim
- 49 mineralized boulders discovered in two broad boulder trains
- Mineralization hosted by calcareous quartzitic rocks
- Best intersection in historic drill hole was 2.02% Uranium over 1.55 meters
Aviken Claim
- Claim size 900 hectares
- 401 mineralized boulders discovered in 5 distinct boulder trains
- Mineralization hosted by thinly bedded dolomites and quartzites
- Best intersection in historic drill hole was 0.131% Uranium over 2.65 meters
Kuopio-Kaavi Project The project area is located in Kuopio-Kaavi region of central Finland, approximately 350km northeast from Helsinki. It is near the southwestern extremity of the Karelian Craton that is host to the rich Archangelsk diamond field in northwestern Russia.
The Company currently holds title to 17 kimberlites located in this area of which 15 contain diamonds.
Claim size 900 hectares The Bottenbacken Project is a 100%-owned polymetalic project in west central Sweden. The property is located 490 km northwest of Stockholm, and 90 km southwest of the central supply town of Ostersund.
