As a private investor who has enjoyed the fruits of the expanding resource market over the past several years, it is a sobering experience to see the markets breaking out in what appears to be a rash of boils from an unnamed disease. Trying to rationalise one’s future strategy – where is value? how to survive and preserve the assets owned? - isn’t easy.

Through the media, internet and other news sources, professional pundits of every class have had the effect of eroding confidence for the private investor. Analysts’ reports are now rarely believed, as most of their predictions seem to track imagined future share prices rather than reality.
