Silver Standard Resources Looks Towards Production in 2008
With a multitude of projects on the go, and armed with the world's largest published in-ground silver resources of any publicly-traded silver company, Canadian and United States-listed Silver Standard Resources is looking to make the transition from exploration company to producer on the back of its Pirquitas project in northern Argentina.
Recently, the Robert Quartermain-led company tabled a 27 per cent increase in the proven and probable reserves at its flagship silver project. Pirquitas now holds reserves of 136 million ounces of silver, up from 107.1 million ounces, while tin reserves increased by 29 per cent to 113 million pounds and zinc reserves jumped 63 per cent to 414 million pounds.
