Scotgold Resources May Be Listed In Australia, But It’s Up To The Scots To Ensure Its Success

It says a lot about the mentality of the Brits that the history of gold production in Wales, Ireland and Scotland going back to the times of the Romans and Celts seems to be ignored. If you want gold, is the general opinion, go to Canada, South Africa or Australia, don’t waste your time here. Bit like the Olympic Games, where few people gave our team any chance of winning gold medals and showed active displeasure at the fact that the usual news times were displaced on television. Only now that we are among the top winners as Team GB are people claiming to have been supporters all along, especially as we appear to be beating Australia.

The Aussies and the Poms have baited each other since way back when we shipped them off to the beautiful country in convict ships. Cricket and rugby are the usual stages and next summer the newspapers will be full of stories about sledging by the Aussies as they will be flat out to retain the Ashes. Competitiveness is at the root of being Australian and the Australians don’t like losing, particularly to England. Then again, if anyone else from some other country tried to join in a sporting...
