Rimfire Minerals And Geoinformatics Are Determined To Generate Real Value For The Whistler Gold-Copper Project In Alaska

The latest deal in the ongoing consolidation of Canada’s junior exploration sector involves Rimfire Minerals and Geoinformatics Exploration, and it is not hard to see the logic behind it. David Caulfield, Rimfire’s chairman, describes his company as one of the new generation of early stage precious metal exploration specialists who offer shareholders an interest in multiple discovery opportunities. Operating in western North America and Australia, Rimfire has formed joint ventures on many projects with major and mid-tier gold producers or prominent junior exploration firms, all with a view to limiting geological and financial risk. Geoinformatics claims to apply risk-management and new technology to exploration targeting.

To understand Geoinformatics better it should probably be explained that its parent was Fractal Graphics, the company which won the McEwen prize for predicting new target areas for the high grade Red Lake mine back in 2001. At the time Fractal was operating as an independent geological consultancy specialising in 3D modelling, structural mapping and 3D software development.
