Mariana Resources Comes Round For A Second Pass On The Sierra Blanca Property In Argentina
Mariana’s chairman John Horsburgh popped into Minesite’s offices a little while ago to update us all on progress down on his company’s extensive South American gold, silver and copper portfolio. John’s not always an easy man to reach, as many of his exploration targets lie some distance away from the nearest sat phone, and even further from the nearest mobile phone network. Last year he was occasionally elusive, but to be fair, in the buoyant conditions of 2007, any geologist worth his salt was out in the field looking for metals. The ones holed up in expensive London offices were often more suspect, even if it was easier to get them on the phone.
But in any case, the London end would have been a lot easier for Mariana to manage if the company's 2007 drill campaign had yielded slightly more tangible results. The capital markets can be impatient at the best of times - and as it turns out, those were the best of times.
