Kinbauri Is Right On Course To Become Western Europe’s Largest Gold Producer

The stand-out fact about Kinbauri’s El Valle/Carles operation in northern Spain is that the company intends to produce more gold from it over the next decade or so than was produced in the entire intervening period between the time of Christ, when mining first got underway there, and the time of Rio Narcea, when the most recent mining operations ceased.

Students of history, and indeed anyone with a basic knowledge of how western civilisation organises its dates, will need no explanations as to what we mean by the time of Christ - the Romans had pushed north through Spain throughout the preceding two centuries, and it was they who first started mining operations up at El Valle/Carles, ultimately taking over a million ounces off the surface.
