Goldplat Expects To Add Gold Production From Mining To Its Production From By-Products Later This Year
Goldplat is already a stand-alone gold producer, but not in the conventional sense. The company recovers gold from waste by-products and equipment from mines and, at the same time, ensures the safe disposal of the residual materials. Goldplat’s South African plant is located near the centre of the East Rand Goldfield, perfectly positioned for the company to source raw material feedstocks from many of the major South African mining companies. Suppliers include Anglogold Ashanti, Goldfields, Harmony, DRD Gold and other smaller producers. The Ghana plant, located in the free port of Tema, provides Goldplat with access to raw materials from mines in Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Benin, Cote D’Ivorie, Senegal, the DRC and Mauritania, as well as Ghana.
Goldplat’s operations enable mining companies to live up to ever-increasing environmental requirements, so the company is not short of customers. The by-products in question include wood chips, fine carbon and waste grease and Goldplat, under chief executive Demetri Manolis, has built a position as market leader in this business.
