Belmore’s Zinc Property In Ireland Continues To Show Promise, Under The Able Stewardship Of Lundin Mining

Pat Mahony rings up for a quick chat about the latest set of results from the Kilbricken zinc-lead-silver project that his company, Belmore Resources, discovered a couple of years back. Work’s moving on apace now that Lundin Mining has decided to earn in on the project, and the latest set of results, which include 4.95 metres at 4.94% zinc, 1.31% lead and 59.26 grammes per tonne silver, and 5.50 metres at 6.18% zinc, 2.67% lead, and 57.96 grammes per tonne silver, give plenty of grounds for optimism that the property has plenty more to offer. Certainly there’s plenty to encourage to Lundin to keep going, and accordingly, in the wake of these most recent results, Lundin has set it will accelerate work on Kilbricken and look towards spending the €14.7 million that will eventually entitle it to 70 per cent ownership.

Lundin is no stranger to operating in Ireland, having been the owner and operator of the prolific Galmoy zinc mine for many years, before it was finally shut down in May of this year. Certainly Pat Mahony is very pleased to have a partner of such “calibre” operating on the Kilbricken property, albeit under the watchful eye of Belmore consultant Dr John Colthurst, who charges his time to Lundin when engaged on joint venture matters, and to Belmore when representing Belmore’s interests alone....
