Attendees At EMED Mining’s Next AGM Will Hear The Deafening Sound Of An Operation Ramping Up At Rio Tinto
Not many companies hold their AGM on the upper level of a disused flotation complex the size of an aircraft hangar with all board members and attendees wearing hard hats. But EMED’s managing director Harry Adams isn’t one to follow conventions. And Mr Adams has a point to make.
Around 50 people, including board members, other staff, investors and assorted media recently congregated at the historic Rio Tinto mine in Andalucia, Spain, at which EMED plans to restart mining within a year. Holding the AGM at the mine not only lets investors witness the scale of the operation, but also demonstrates to the local authorities that even though the group hasn’t yet triggered its option to acquire the historic property, it already plays a crucial role in the mine’s destiny.
