As It Re-Organizes Over The Summer, Western Warrior Hopes That With Work, Comes Reward
Early in 2008, Paul Nagerl was actively looking for a new company. After putting in more than twenty years assembling and managing mining portfolios in South and Central America and Scandinavia for Falconbridge and Blackstone Ventures, Mr. Nagerl was ready to take the reins of command himself. So when Western Warrior Resources came calling, and, after a bit of finagling, offered him the top spot, Mr. Nagerl jumped at the opportunity.
But it’s not an easy task he’s taken on. On his appointment as chief executive in March, Mr. Nagerl had, he said, inherited a company that had “lost a great deal of its momentum”. While this loss of momentum can largely be attributed to the shock the company experienced due to the untimely death last October of its exploration manager, Michael Chute, Mr. Nagerl also feels that there was - and is - a desperate need for a “reorganization of the company’s interests”.
