Peter Vivian-Neal, the CEO of Kiwara says:
“The Kalumbila Minerals Ltd joint venture with our Zambian partners, LM Engineering Ltd, has the exploration rights over a highly prospective area on the Kabompo Dome in North West Zambia; where historic exploration has identified Nickel, Cobalt, Copper and Uranium. The Company is currently conducting its own drilling and ground geophysics programmes on two separate identified deposits, to re-affirm third party historic data and to determine extensions and up-dip mineralisation, leading to a re-appraisal of the potential in the light of advances in technology and robust metal prices. Prospecting is also underway on other targets within the licence area”
Kiwara’s principal exploration asset is an interest in the Kabompo Gorge Project located in western Zambia. The licence covers 280,000Ha of the Kabompo Done, one of four major geological domes or inliers in the NW part of Zambia.
The Kabompo Dome is within the Northwest Copperbelt, where widespread copper mineralisation has been identified. Copper, nickel, cobalt and uranium mineralisation have been previously intersected at various locations within the licence area.
Two exploration targets are currently being drill investigated:
