The Company's objective is to become a significant and independent copper producer. CopperCo is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and trades under the code ASX: CUO.
The Company has consolidated approximately 2,500km2 of Mining Leases and Exploration Permits in the Mount Isa Block, making it a major tenement holder in the region. This consolidation has resulted in a coherent, multi-tenement package covering some 100km of strike length in the Western Succession, hosting several known copper oxide and sulphide resources and prospects and giving it the potential to simultaneously develop several projects.
The Company's extensive holdings in the Mount Isa region, strategically position the Company to pursue further acquisition opportunities that would consolidate the copper sector in Australia. Supporting the CopperCo strategy are major shareholders Mineral Securities Limited.
The Company is pursuing a vigorous exploration and development plan over the 2007 field season with the single focus of delineating sufficient copper resources to underwrite the stage one expansion.
Lady Annie Project
The acquisition and ultimate development of the Lady Annie oxide copper resource will provide CopperCo with the opportunity to rapidly become a copper producer. The Lady Annie copper oxide deposit is located 140km northwest of Mount Isa. The copper oxide deposit, consisting mainly of malachite, is underlain by deeper chalcocite mineralisation at depths ranging from 60m to 100m. Primary copper sulphide potential exists below the chalcocite zone. Within the Lady Annie sub-lease there are some 13 exploration targets based on known copper geochemical and geophysical anomalies. Exploration for the 2006 / 07 field season is underway where the principal areas of focus will be within a 2 km radius of the Lady Annie oxide copper resource.
Mount Kelly Project
The Mount Kelly project is located approximately 110km to the north-northwest of Mount Isa and 24km south of the Lady Annie project. The Mount Kelly project comprises a series of semi contiguous oxide copper prospects including the Mount Clarke, Flying Horse, and Mount Kelly workings prospects. The most advanced is the Mount Clarke prospect where a measured and indicated mineral resource has been estimated. Significant primary copper-gold mineralisation has been outlined along the Mount Kelly Fault located to the immediate west of the Mount Clarke copper oxide deposit, at Flying Horse and at the historical Mount Kelly workings. During the December quarter 2006, RC drilling identified a zone of mineralisation immediately to the north of the Mount Clarke and Flying Horse Mineral Resources. This was termed Mount Clarke Extended and Flying Horse Extended and assay results from this zone indicate extensive oxide copper mineralisation.
Buckley River Project
The Buckley River project located approximately 40km south of the Mount Kelly project. Two main prospect areas have been outlined, Anthill and Johnson Creek with a further six targets on this property delineated. During the early 1990's, a number of RC drill holes showed the presence of significant copper oxide mineralisation.
Mount Isa Regional Projects
CopperCo has commenced a regional exploration program on its extensive 2,500km2 tenements and application holding. Regional projects include:
