Company Statement
VANE Minerals (VANE) is a self-funding exploration company, financed by production from the Silver/Gold Diablito Mine in Western Mexico.
VANE was founded by the former international exploration team of Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., one of the world's largest producers of copper and gold. The team negotiated exclusive access to Freeport McMoRan's global exploration database, made up of 7,000 plus files generated over nearly 100 years of exploration.
The Company has assembled a highly qualified and experienced management team with a proven track record in exploration and development, who have spent their entire careers searching for and defining large scale mineral deposits such as Mount Keith, Santa Cruz and Escondida.
VANE has most recently built a substantial Uranium portfolio in the US which, at present, is the main driver for the company, offering considerable upside in these strong markets.
VANE now has projects in Mexico, Paraguay and the US, incorporating exposure to gold, silver, copper and uranium.
The Company's principal objective is to utilise the funds generated from the Diablito project, by exploring undervalued and under-explored projects, create value in those projects and realise that value through exploitation or disposal to third parties.
Current Operations
The company has been active in investigating many properties, both through the "Freeport Data Bank" and through contacts of the principals, in Central and North America and has, so far, secured the rights or options to three properties in Mexico and three exploration blocks in Paraguay. Since December 2004, VANE has built a substantial Uranium portfolio in the US, consisting of both Breccia Pipe and Stratabound deposits. Breccia Pipes are amongst the highest grade deposits found in the US, with grades in the region of 1% U3O8. VANE, at present, has 68 breccia pipe projects and 6 stratabound projects. The company continues to rapidly build its portfolio in this exciting area.
Uranium Prospects
North Alice Extension
The North Alice Extension project is in the prolific uranium producing district of Lisbon Valley, the Lisbon Valley District produced over 85 million pounds of U3O8, averaging 0.4 percent U3O8. The Lisbon Valley Mining District is located in the Colorado Plateau region, 30 miles south of Moab, in San Juan County, Utah.
North Alice Extension is the extension of the North Alice Mine, operated by Homestake until the decline in the price of uranium in the 1980's. The project area covers approx. 300 acres which has been drilled extensively by Homestake historically.
VANE has completed its first round of drilling with encouraging results and now has plans and approval for a 75 drill hole programme to establish an NI 43-101 resource over the summer.
Abajo Basin Project
Situated on the South West trend of the Uravan Minerals Belt, the property occupies in excess of 7000 acres and has potential for both uranium and vanadium. The Uravan Mineral Belt has historic production of 60,000,000 lbs U3O8.
Diablito
The Diablito project is an operating mine; production commenced in Q3 2005, producing 1,500 tonnes per month of high grade Ag/Au Ore from a massive epithermal quartz vein containing economic values of silver and gold together with sub-economic values of copper, lead, and zinc located in west-central Mexico.
Following the positive results of the latest round of drilling VANE has decided to progress with building its own crushing plant & floating Mill close to the mine site with a 100 tpd capacity.
