Pure Nickel is one of North America's largest nickel exploration companies. It has a premium portfolio of later stage exploration and development projects.
Operating in North America's highest caliber geological environments for nickel exploration Pure Nickel continues its committment to aggressive multi-million dollar exploration programs including drilling on its three principal areas: Thompson Belt (Manitoba); MAN Project (Alaska); and Salt Chuck (Alaska).
The addition of Xstrata Nickel's Canadian Property Land Package creates unlimited exploration opportunities for Pure Nickel.
Pure Nickel became a publicly traded company in March 2007. Shares of Pure Nickel are now listed on the TSX Exchange under the symbol "NIC" and on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol "PNCKF"".
Current Operations
William Lake, Manitoba
The William Lake property consists of 148 claims totaling 30,890 hectares.
Covers the Thompson Nickel Belt extension under the Paleozoic cover.
Exploration work conducted by Falconbridge between 1988 and 2002.
In the Trend Area, at least eleven large ultramafic bodies and numerous smaller bodies have been discovered near the west and south margins of the interpreted "William Lake Dome" along a regional strike distance of 15 km.
The Cu-Zn-Au rich Tower Zone represents the largest continuous sheet of mineralization discovered on the William Lake Project to date.
MAN Alaska:
Pure Nickel's 100%-interest in the MAN Project, south-central Alaska, was acquired as part of the Company's RTO of Nevada Star Resource Corp. in February 2007.
Readily accessible by two paved highways and seasonal roads, the MAN Project is located 400 km northeast of Anchorage and 265 km south-southeast of Fairbanks in an area covering approximately 80,000 hectares.
Facilities and infrastructure in place at MAN are excellent and include:
an established base camp (buildings, power, water)
an airstrip on the Property
suitable site for a flotation plant
permitted for diesel delivery via Alaskan Pipeline that crosses the northeast block of the Property (Area 2)
highways (Denali and Richardson), rail, ports
mining-friendly state; expedited permitting process and relatively low costs
Salt Chuck Property
- Prospective ground including the historic past producing Salt Chuck Mine
- Located on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska
- Island accessed by ferry from Ketchikan
- Access to the property by well maintained U.S. Forest Services road

The Salt Chuck property consists of 143 unpatented federal mining claims covering approximately 2200 acres of prospective ground including the historic Salt Chuck mine on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. The area is underlain by a mafic-ultramafic complex which hosts palladium bearing copper sulfide mineralization. Prince of Wales Island can be accessed by ferry service from Ketchikan to Hollis. Direct access to the property is by well maintained U.S. Forest Service roads.
The historic past producing Salt Chuck mine was active between 1919 and 1941 and had a reported production of 300,000 tons of copper sulphide ore grading 0.95% Copper (Cu), 2.0 g/t palladium (Pd), 1.1 g/t gold (Au), and 5.7 g/t silver (Ag).
Manibridge, Manitoba
- 2 Claims 100% Falconbridge.
- Covers the deposit, the shaft and tailings.
- Mined between 1971 and 1977.
- Grades @ 2.25% Ni, 0.27& Cu to a depth of 1250 ft (non NI 43-101 compliant).
- No work done on the property since 1977.
- Original geological interpretation, mineral inventory, feasibility and mine engineering planning and design were all done from 26 surface drill holes.
- The ultramafic body, which is host to nickel sulphides is in an elongate zone 3.2 km in length conformable with the enclosing gneissic rock.
- Large 2200 acre project area; 100%-company owned
