Company Statement

International Barytex Resources Ltd. (Barytex) is a Canadian mineral exploration company managed by capable professionals with successful track records and many years of experience in the mineral exploration and development industry. The management of Barytex is focused on the identification and exploration of economically attractive metallic mineral deposits.

Barytex is currently advancing the Shituru high grade copper-cobalt deposit located at Likasi, Democratic Republic of the Congo where Barytex holds an option to earn a 65% interest.


Current Operations

Shituru Copper/Cobalt Deposit
The Shituru deposit is a high grade oxide copper resource amenable to open pit mining. A feasibility study is currently underway with expected completion for mid 2008.  Barytex has an option to acquire up to an 86.67% interest in stages in East China Capital Holdings Ltd. (ECCH) whose sole asset is an option to acquire a 75% share interest in the Shituru Copper-Cobalt deposit from Generale Des Carrieres et des Mines ("Gecamines"). When fully exercised the interests in the Shituru Property will be indirectly held 65%.

Board of Directors and Key Management

Dr.Roman Shklanka, Chairman and Director
Dr. Shklanka has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry. From 1969-1990 Dr. Shklanka worked for the Placer organization in a variety of positions including General Manager, Exploration for Placer Development and Vice President, Foreign Exploration for Placer Dome Inc. Dr. Shklanka was Chairman of Sutton Resources Ltd. and responsible for the acquisition of Sutton's world-class Bulyanhulu, (Tanzania) gold deposit which led to the purchase of Sutton Resources by American Barrick Gold Corp. in 1999 for CAD$525 million. Dr. Shklanka has a doctorate in Petrology and Ore Deposits from Stanford University and a Master of Arts in Geology and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Shklanka was the Chairman and a director of Canico Resource Corp. which was recently purchased by CVRD for over $865 million.

Mr. Leo King, President and Director
Mr. Leo King has over 40 years experience in mineral exploration and mining geology, including 10 years in senior executive positions. Mr. King has managed exploration and development projects in Canada as well as internationally and has valuable experience in mineral prospect evaluation and property acquisition. Mr. King holds a Masters degree in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and a member of the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

Mr. Alfred Hills, CEO, Director
Mr.Hills has 30 years international mine evaluation, development, start-up and operating experience, 26 years of which were with Placer Dome Inc, most recently as Vice-President, Evaluations. Mr Hills is a Member of the Technical Advisory and Monitoring Committee (MTAMC) which advises the CDN Securities Administrators on matters related to NI43-101 – Regulations related to disclosure of Mineral Resources and Reserves

Mr. Theodore Muraro, Vice-President Exploration and Director
Mr. Muraro has over 40 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry. Between 1956 and 1990, Mr. Muraro worked at Cominco Ltd. in various positions including Chief Geologist and internal Consulting Geologist to the Exploration Division. Mr. Muraro has exploration experience in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia and in the last 10 years has worked as a geological consultant. He holds a bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a Masters Degree in Geological Engineering from Queens University and completed post-graduate studies at Stanford University.

Mr. Anthonie Luteijn, Director
Mr. Luteijn is a Mining engineer and brings over 40 years of experience as a mining engineer with experience in evaluation, engineering construction, start-up and operation of mines internationally. Mr. Luteijn has held positions including Project Manager for construction of the Kidston, Porgera and Misima mines for Placer Dome Inc. as well as Manager of Evaluations. More recently Mr. Luteijn was Vice President of Sutton Resources Ltd. where he was responsible for the construction of the Bulyhanulu gold mine in Tanzania. Mr. Luteijn holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Utrecht, Netherlands and a Master of Science in Mining from the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Samuel Yik, BCom,C.A., CFO
Mr. Yik is a Chartered Accountant (CA) with over 18 years of diversified business experience, and joined the Company after having spent the past 3 years in the resource sector where he served senior management roles in areas of corporate finance, investor relations, corporate development, and commercial management. Mr. Yik also spent over 10 years with a major public chemical company where he held various management positions in finance, operations, and marketing. In additional to his CA designation, Mr. Yik holds a commerce degree from the University of British Columbia, and is a member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute.

Mr. William Pillipow, Director
Mr. Pillipow is a retired lawyer and brings 40 years of legal experience to the Company. Mr. Pillipow practiced law in Regina, Saskatchewan from 1958 to 1960 where he then established a private law practice in Wynward, Saskatchewan and carried on the general practice of law until 1990. Mr. Pillipow graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law degree.

Mr. Michael Liu, Director
Michael Liu is currently a Director of Pacific Imperial Mines Inc. Mr. Liu has a Masters of Finance from the University of New Brunswick and a MBA from the University of British Columbia.
