Forum Uranium Corp. is a Canadian-based energy company with a focus on the acquisition, exploration and development of Canadian uranium projects in the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan and the Thelon Basin, Nunavut. Forum has assembled a highly experienced team of exploration professionals with a track record of mine discoveries for unconformity-style uranium deposits in Canada. The Company has a strategy to discover near surface uranium deposits nearby existing infrastructure by exploring on its 100% owned properties and through strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
Maurice Point – The Maurice Bay uranium deposit, is reported to host 1.3 million pounds of U3O8 at a grade of 0.6%, includes structurally controlled mineralization within altered basement rocks and at the sub-Athabasca unconformity. Forum Uranium has entered into an agreement with Mega Uranium Ltd. (MGA:TSX.V) to explore and develop Forum's 100% owned Maurice Point property, whereby Mega Uranium can earn a 55% interest in the Maurice Point project by spending $8 million over three years and issuing 100,000 Mega shares to Forum.
Proposed Work: Forum completed 2,324 metres of drilling, ground gravity and resistivity during the winter 2008. A major basement-hosted hydrothermal alteration zone was intersected during the drill program. Alteration at this magnitude occurs with other basement-styles of mineralization such as Cameco's Millennium deposit and AREVA/UEX' shea Creek Deposit.
Key Lake Road – 100% owned by Forum. Located 20km SW of Key Lake Mine which was discovered by Forum’s Chief Geologist in 1976. Exploration model indicates potential for near-surface unconformity style uranium mineralization; road accessible.A total of 5,375 m were drilled on conductors and structural targets on the Molly, DD, Rainbow and Millison/Romulus 1 zones. Assay results are pending.
Henday Project - 100% owned by Forum. Located 10km NW of the AREVA McClean Lake Mill. On the trend with the 40 million lb U3O8 AREVA/Denison Midwest Lake Mine Development.
2008 Exploration Program: Results from 21 holes, totalling 4971 meters were reported in September 2008. Two of Forum's drill holes successfully identified an illitic alteration halo. The alteration halo extends both upwards into the sandstone and downwards into the basement for a total of 50m in thickness (115 to 155m). Uranium values up to 313 U ppm were intersected with associated Nickel, Boron, Lead and Copper. Anomalous geochemistry such as this may be indicative of a fertile hydrothermal system, and is a common feature around all the uranium deposits in this part of the Athabasca Basin. For complete results please see news release dated, Sept 8th, 2008. Work proposed for 2009 will include ground gravity surveys over the anomalous areas which proved effective in delineating Hathor's nearby Roughrider zone.
North Thelon Joint Venture – Strategically located near the 148 million lb. The North Thelon Project covers 218,099.15 ha and consists of three project areas; the Kiggavik North and South Projects, the Tanqueray Option and the Agnico-Eagle Option all located on the eastern margin of the Thelon Sandstone Basin, approximately 50km east of Baker Lake, Nunavut. U3O8 Kiggavik-Sissons Project currently under feasibility by AREVA Resources Canada Inc.
2008 Program: Forum is currently flying a Fugro airborne Resolve Apparent Resistivity survey. Geophysical crews will conduct ground gravity surveys over selected targets from the airborne survey in June. Prospecting and mapping crews will also be mobilized to the project in June. A 3,000m drill program will commence in July.
Romulas Project - The 100%-owned Romulus project consists of two mineral claims covering 6,140 ha of the margin of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The property is located northwest of, and adjacent to the Forum's Key Lake Road Project, 20 km southwest of Cameco's Key Lake Mine/Mill Complex, the principal processing facility for the nearby high grade McArthur River uranium mine and site of the formerly productive Key Lake Deposit.Forum Uranium is continuing to outline drill targets on the Romulus project for future evaluation.
Costigan Lake Joint Venture - The Costigan Lake Joint Venture property consists of a mineral lease covering 743 hectares of the margin of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The property is strategically located 14 kilometres (km) southwest of the Cameco/Areva Key Lake Mine and Mill complex in the Athabasca Basin, northern Saskatchewan.
Orchid Lake Project - The Orchid Lake project consists of one mineral claim covering 7,229 ha of the margin of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The property is located approximately 20km southwest of the Cameco/COGEMA Key Lake Mine and Mill complex in the Athabasca Basin, northern Saskatchewan.
Haultain River Joint Venture - The Haultain River Joint Venture consists of 8 claims covering 10,148 ha of the margin of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. Forum Uranium and Hathor Exploration Ltd. (HAT: TSX-:V) have entered into a Joint Venture Agreement whereby both parties have a 50% interest in the Haultain River Joint Venture, with Forum as the Operator.
Proposed Work: Forum Uranium will continue to compile data on the Haultian River Property to evaluate drill targets for future exploration. Hathor Exploration is currently conducting an airborne geophysical survey on its Vedette permit area and plans are being made to extend the survey onto the Haultain River Joint Venture property.
Coalbed Methane
Merritt Project - The Merritt project is comprised of two packages (996 hectares) of contiguous coal properties covering most of the known Merritt coal field, and is located 250 Km east of Vancouver in southern British Columbia. Forum has private title to the mineral and petroleum rights over a 505 hectare parcel of freehold land.
Unlike many of the province's remote interior coal fields, Merritt is characterized by excellent infrastructure. Coalbed methane (CBM) development at Merritt offers potential for direct sales into local domestic and industrial markets or to Terasen whose pipeline servicing the Vancouver metropolitan area and U.S. export markets passes just west of the project area.
Proposed Work: The Company proposes a bore hole designed to recover samples for coal quality and gas desorption testing. The borehole will penetrate the full stratigraphic interval of coal measures, and provide a basis for assessing the full CBM potential of the Merritt Coalfield.
